During these unprecedented times, we know our clients have many questions. Communication is key for all of us, especially now as we all stand united through the COVID-19 crisis. Despite the extreme volatility in the market, some comfort is offered with new developments in the global fight and positive stock market gains recently. The more clarity our leaders provide, the less uncertainty plays a factor in the market sell-offs.

Has a market bottom been established? No one has that answer. What we do know is that we will get through these tough times and be better off in many ways. Everyone at KCM remains committed to our clients and continues to strive to help them meet their investment goals and objectives.

We remain fully operational as we took steps early on to ensure the well-being of our staff as well as limit any interruption, through the use of technology and our off-site capabilities. Our focus outside of daily management of the portfolios remains on our clients and what obstacles they may be facing. Currently, the investment team continues to evaluate every position in our portfolios and model many different scenarios. Our focus is on delivering the best risk/reward results possible. We believe this is a key advantage to our portfolios and the benefit of active management in general, with the ability to buy and sell securities in the portfolio at any point in the trading day. This flexibility allows us to replace stocks where we believe the narrative has changed and add to positions where we find new opportunity. Given our strong valuation discipline, which has stood the test of time over the past 30 years, we believe this has provided opportunity in many ways to upgrade our portfolios.
